Hey, just wanted to introduce myself, since I came here under different circumstances.

My name is Arnoldo Offermann, VP of A Premier Entertainment. We are a full-time DJ and productions company (http://APEDJ.COM (external link)). I got into photography through my blog (http://www.ArnoldoOffermann.com (external link)) that I use to show clients differents weddings that I've personally done, as well as to showcase our lighting on a "per event" basis.

The problem that DJs have is that wedding photographers do not take photos that showcase lighting or our setups, as that is not what they're being paid to do. The big problem is that MANY (here in FL) slack in giving us photos in a timely manner, if at all.

So my friend and full-time photographer, Alex, introduced me to Fred Miranda where I bought an XTI kit and borrowed an old flash (the super cool Vivitar 285)... but this didn't let me get the photos I wanted... so Alex showed me the Nifty Fifty, and at $99, hell yes!

I was hooked, and bought a T2i so I could shoot video, too. Suddenly I needed a wider lens so I got the 35mm 2.0 (and now a 17-55) which allows me to shoot without flash to really show what our lighting can do. Almost a year later... and I'm awaiting the new DSLRs as I'd like to see what the 7D MKII has to offer.

Anyhow, I found this site while looking to buy a 17-55 and I like how friendly the community is, much like the FM forums.

My wife is supportive of my hobby, thank God! :) I've bought a crapload of stuff, with my faves listed on my signature! :)

Thank you again!

I guess I could say welcome to POTN and enjoy your new T2i.

Not sure what else you want people to say, you didn't ask any questions.
