I'm looking to get myself a decent reflector stand. I don't mind if it includes reflectors but it's not a requirement. Looking for suggestions from all of you.

I don't want to spend a fortune, just need something sturdy. I'm pretty easy on my equipment.

Thanks a bunch!

I just purchased this one here (external link) until I can invest in some proper strobes. I had to exchange the first one, as I couldn't get the handle to tighten enough to keep the reflector arm from spinning under the slightest breeze. The second one I received, I have had zero problems with. I realized after receiving the second one that I could have possibly taken the handle off and tightened the inside bolt. But for $100, I couldn't be any happier. Just make sure you have a couple of weight bags to use with it.

I opted for this Photoflex reflector arm:

Be sure you wind up with a stand that can be used for multiple uses, reflector, backdrop, speedlight and strobes. The above arm fits the standard light stand spigots.

I use the same Photoflex LiteDisc holder, which is just a reflector arm and LiteDisc's are Photoflex's name for collapsible reflectors.

Some arms won't extend and allow for larger reflectors so that's something to think about when shopping.

Thanks. Gonna check those out. Also found this (external link) one on Amazon. Got decent reviews.

I plan to purchase additional strobes early next year (not in the budget at the moment) and I've used a reflector successfully many times but it's a PITA to use without an assistant. That's why I'm looking for an inexpensive stand/holder.

I appreciate it!

Just found this (external link) one on Amazon. Looks pretty decent but I'm not sure if I need something else to connect my reflector to the stand. Seems like I need clips or something.

Anyone know?

Thanks.

A boom stand with A clamps will do the same job if you are looking for something a little sturdier.

I have a couple of the 40" grip arm kits and a couple of A clamps, very sturdy and it has a multitude of other uses.

Hmm, that's a great idea. The stands don't seem terribly expensive and I have some A clamps but they may be too small. They aren't terribly expensive either.

Thanks for the suggestion.

You are welcome.

I would get 5 or 6 inch A Clamps, that way you know you are good to go.

The reason I like this idea is that you also have another boom arm which can be used for other things when not used as a reflector stand.

And with a big enough reflector the boom stand acts as a portable backdrop as well.

Just clamp the reflector to the stand at the top of the reflector and you have a quick backdrop.
