Thanks guys. I had a great time shooting this contest. Lots of energy and gravity defying moves, especially on the last day when the surf bumped up some as Nmura mentioned. i'm a canon gear junkie..........i..... need....help............toward buying me more canon gear

Even if I'm only taking the kids to the beach when the surf is flat, I still feel bare ass naked going out there without that lens and the rest of the gear. i'm a canon gear junkie..........i..... need....help............toward buying me more canon gear

Vans Triple Crown was going on. Surf was choppy at best. Competitors said it was difficult getting a good ride. Great captures! HPF colors look way off compared to these. The surfers don't do those acrobatic moves at Waimea...for good reason!

Yeah, I heard about that daily traffic jam from my Blue Tent Crew friends who finally got their surf spot back at Hale'iwa. The wind is still kick'in hard at Sunset Beach isn't it? I remember going short-boarding out there on blown out days in 4-6 foot surf (Hawaiian) and not being able to paddle into those thick shifting peaks at all unless it was a late suicide takeoff with the lip of the wave pushing me over the falls into an eye-popping-face-planting free fall, nasal enema included. You know, I'm pretty sure it was at windy Sunset that I got sucked over the falls sitting on my board trying to pull out of the wave at the last second. Humiliating to say the least, but thrilling nontheless! i'm a canon gear junkie..........i..... need....help............toward buying me more canon gear
