Grettings All,

Well i have just returned from a week in Hawaii and thought id share a few pics. The highlight for me was a trip up to the North Shore (OH and getting married on a secluded beach), I was also fortunate enought to attend the last day of the Pro Surfer tour at Haleiwa Bay which was Friggin Awesome!! ILL post some of those pics later in sports. Waves were not as big as I would have liked, but its just the start of winter, and they were still awesome waves!

ANyway hope you enjoy my pics:

01.
Waimea Bay: This legendary beach is notorious for producing monstrous winter waves and is one of the first places surfers in the 50’s began to ride big waves. In the summer, the swells subside for great swimming and snorkeling. With full facilities, this is a popular beach for locals and visitors.

02.
Ehukai Beach (Banzai Pipeline): The powerful waves at Banzai Pipeline break over a sharp reef, no more than a few feet from the surface. These massive tubes make this one of the most dangerous surf spots in the world and one of the venues for the Triple Crown of Surfing.

Thanks Larry. It's just hit 15ft on the north shore. Missed it by 5 days!

Yah, they can get pretty nasty. My friend and I were there in December one year. The local police wouldn't let anybody on the beach even. 30' swells hit the north shore beaches. At the time I only had my P & S with me and didn't have time to get any shots as the police pulled up right behind us.

Well, the waterfall or the stream. Did you set up on tripod and was the terrain ok? Were any of the shots stitched?

I must have been over there pretty much the same time as you Supernova....We had three weeks in total in Hawaii and spent our time on Oahu and the big island..We were also at Hale'iwa for the last day of the Vans Triple Crown at Hale'iwa beach..loved it all so much that we will be going back every year now. Like you, I missed the first solid big swell on the north shore by just few days.....We left on Friday and the big swells were due to arrive on Sunday....(took us 22 hours in total to get there from Perth Australia, but it was damn worth it)..Congratulations on getting married over there too.....
