I recently installed LR3 on my iMac. I have been using Bridge and PS up till now. Everything seems to work OK and I am plowing through LR3 and developing a like for it but...

When I do a cmd-E to edit in PS CS5 I get a message that says I should update my ACR in CS5 to 6.5 to get full compatibility. CS5 is currently at 6.4.1.145. When I use the Update under Help in CS5 it says I'm up to date. If I try to manually install ACR 6.5 it says it finished but does nothing that I can see.

I also have CS5 installed on my Macbook and the ACR version is 6.0.xxx and the Update button under Help also says all my software is up to date. If I try to install ACR 6.5 on the Macbook it tells me ACR is not the proper version.

So, what have I done? And what should I do? LR3 will allow rendering in the ACR 6.5 installed with it and brings up the CR2 in Photoshop. Or I can open CS5 and ignore the difference and go to ACR and then to Photoshop as a tif.

After some more research to job my memory - ACR 6.5 had a bug that disabled some functions of the Downloader in Bridge. Revert to 6.4.1.145 was the solution. Now I use LR3 to download images from the camera/card so I'd like to go back to 6.5 but can't.

I've been having the same issue/message. Just been ignoring it. Is there a problem or is ignoring fine? I haven't noticed an issue.

Well, it appears that the beta 6.6 works in both Photoshop and LR3.

I've exchanged an incompatibility message for a notice that I'm running a beta version that expires shortly...but that's only once a day.

I guess that's progress.
