Don't worry, I have read the sticky while I agree with final decisions made by people who run/pay for the site..

Why is it that many forums are against the addition of it?

Why would anyone make a decision that could deter users from continuing to use a fantastic forum such as this?

As I am writing this, I am using my iPhone on safari and it's glitchy as hell.
I very rarely get a chance to be able to use a laptop to post and view.. Therefore I'll be honest and admit that I have looked elsewhere for another canon forum to use in my new found hobby.

Regards,

Stuart

If you read the sticky and followed the links, then you have all the answer there is to your question, although it might be the answer you wanted.

There is no more information available on the subject.

Bottom line: I will not have any 3rd party extras installed on my servers. Tapatalk uses its own access to database and that is simply not good.

It is all about security. In fact just now a major Finnish tech forum noticed that with Tapatalk using an old Symbian version, you could log in without password (external link). It was not a problem with Tapatalk app per se, but with the integration with some custom forum code. One example why I will not give db access to some external code base I have no control of.

Any site can be designed to work on all screens and systems if needed, usually codes are lazy to do it and ignorant to the fact there is no common screen resolution out there. Latest mobile Safari is in fact a very good browser and it has been accelerated in all iOS devices. Even with forced scaling this old vBulletin is very usable with mobile devices, I have iPad2 and Nokia N9 and there are no problems there.

PS. Next POTN software will auto-fit and auto-scale everything based on browser resolution and is guaranteed to work on mobile Safari.
