I've only been shooting for about a month and I built my lightbox about 4 days ago. I did a little bit of PP with the burn tool. Is it obvious its been done? I've learned over my measly 20 years of life that the best way to learn is to have people tear you apart. Go!

Looks really good to me... I don't see where the burning was done... but I don't have any experience with lightboxes so maybe I'm missing something obvious.

crop the sog or erase the lines on the side plus it could use a little more contrast or detail in the darks

Which lines? If I were to crop, would the idea to be to put the Sog in the center of the frame?

Here's a setup of the box. It was built with PVC and white Muslin fabric. I'm using a white poster board backing and using printer paper underneath the object (still trying to get a piece of glass). I just have a desk lamp (I think it has 3 florescent bulbs) and use a Quantaray QDC 900WA to fill. This was taken with my Droid 1, so sorry for the super low quality picture.

If I get real low to my table, I can see it too! Is it the lack of monitor calibration that makes it so hard for me to see those lines?

I actually have the flash mounted on the camera's hot shoe and pointing straight at the item. If I recall, I think I'm at 1/16 power.

Of course I'm adding some fill light and upping the exposure with PP

you need to adjust your monitor. this last image has dark sides. and or cut the images out and put on a pure white back ground

pickledmidget, i took the liberty of editing your image and here<s what I did: I whitened the sides to take out those darker shades, Levels adjustment layer and finished with High Pass layer. Let me know what you think. I find it brings out more detail in your subject.
