Has anyone here used this bracket with a battery grip and a Sigma 24-70 EX DG lens attached (or a lens of similar weight)?? Basically, I'm wondering if the whole setup with my camera, grip, Sigma 24-70, and 580ex will be too heavy and hard to manage. I was looking at this bracket because I would rather have a camera rotating bracket as opposed to a flash rotating. I currently use a Stroboframe Folding Flip and am unhappy with it. Plus with all the weight on it, it's kind of cumbersome and hard to handle.

Also, will I need anything extra to attach the bracket to my tripod?

Thanks for all the help!!
- Tom

I find it manageable even with a 10D+grip+550EX and either the 28-135IS, 17-40L, 135L 2.0, or 70-200 2.8IS.
Really easy going from landscape to portrait and very well made.
You will need the optional QR plate (~$15) if you're going to use it on a tripod.

Here's a picture of it in use.

Absolutely AWESOME bracket. I use two. I have to admit...with my 20D, grip, 580, and 24-70L, it's quite a beast. Not bad to carry around...I hold it by the "bend" in the side of it, and I can walk around all day. Tough for even me (and I'm quite a big guy) to hold up for more than a few minutes without taking a quick rest, though. Understandable, though, I'd say. It's an awesome accessory..simply invaluable, as far as I'm concerned. Incredible build quality, too. Enjoy it. It's worth every penny (you'll need lots of them!)

Definitely get the QR plate. You'll be sorry if you don't.

Thanks so much for the replies guys! I really appreciate it! Gonna order one within the next week or so... I got a wedding shoot coming up and I would hate to have to shoot another wedding with the Stroboframe Quick Flip! ;)

Thanks!
