Well, you are certainly describing various types of photography, where you are not capturing a significant "moment" which will carry memories, but instead are capturing a composition, an idea, a subject, that in itself may have no "sentimental value" but will instead be of interest because of the way you composed the shot and the "eye" you showed.

I don't know if that's what you are talking about, though, when you say you "make" the memories. Do you want to describe what you are referring to? Or is this just a "pot stirring" exercise:)?

I've made a few memories for people. But now I don't drink that much anymore.

That's really me there in the avatar BTW <= I'm holding a Falstaff bottle. Good times.

^^^This exactly, you got it right!

I don't know how to define it properly, but it's more like I'm trying to show why I took that particular picture, than what is in the picture..
I don't know if that makes sense, these two thing are hard to separate, but I hope you get my drift..

And yes, I am trying to stir the pot, the pot of opinions, that is. ;)
I'd like to know why you guys shoot what you shoot, ie. why you took any particular photo that you like.

So, show us one of your photos and tell us why you took it, if you please!

An example: my wife and my dog, in my park (area), no memories expected, no sentimental values, no memory at all.
Just lighting.
I took this photo because I liked the early morning light in it.

Every picture is a memory, regardless of what it is or why you took it. If you took a picture of your spouse cheating on you the subject matter of the images really is not important it's the fact that she/he was cheating and that in itself is a memory. You could look at the picture in 20yrs and remember the details (memory) of the image, or remember the memory of how you felt when you were looking through the viewfinder.

Just a hypothetical situation I made up. :)
