Today I went searching for a few cf cards for my upcoming trip, I decided that a few cards in the 4 to 8 gb size will do for my use and found an 8gb sandisk that has a speed of 60mbs for $55 at london drugs, $99 at Dons photo and $149 at best buy, all the same card??

so london drugs it was.

I was taken by how much differance there, I also got a $10 gift card when I spent $66 at LD as a promotion.

my gear Canon 7D, Canon 5DMK2, 70-200 f2.8 IS, 50mm f1.8, canon 430 speedlight, canon 17-55 2.8 IS, canon 100mm macro sigma 10-20, Canon 17-85 , 60 cokin filters , 2x telecoverter.

For some reason I've noticed a rather large price difference in memory cards between different stores.....I guess that's why it's always good to shop around :)

Best Buy doesn't make their money on the big products they sell, they make on all the accessories and the nagging warranty sales:-)

Since you live in Canada there is a wonderful website called http://photoprice.ca (external link) which lists the lowest price. I have noticed they they are not up to date on the latest sale prices of CF cards, which would be kinda hard to do considering they are likely more concerned about camera and lens prices.

I have bought used cards occationally- people upgrade to a 5D2 or some other huge megapixel camera and don't want their smaller cards so they sell them for cheap. Like the Extreme III 8Gb I got for $20. Best to shop around online and get one of the big box stores to price match.

Canon 60D, 30D
