The chain is certainly important, it's obviously been included on purpose, I think for me, I'd rather it were either in focus, or not there at all, for me at the moment it doesn't sit well in the frame.

I agree the chain should be in focus. I know that is a personal thing but out of focus foreground objects have always bugged me. For me if it is important enough to be in the image it should be in focus.

That said, it is still a nice image.

I don't think the chain needs to be in focus. The focal point is the gravestones and the chain is implied. Everyone knows what chain links look like... so why should they be in focus?

When I look at a scene the foreground in focus. When I look at an image with out of focus foreground objects, that would have been in focus when looking at the scene, it bugs me. I try to bring it in focus and then decide what I would have done differently. That's just me and that's fine.

I'm sure there are things that bug people about my images. It may be helpful for others to know the affect it has on people like me. I try to fix the image in my mind rather than enjoy it.

Nice...

When us newbs constantly hear the phrase "able to see light", this photo goes a long way to explaining that concept. Gorgeous image, thanks for posting!
