I knew you would. Little self-loathing on this end except that I should have done this before I went to Japan/China.

I can feel that. I'm actually on the fence on a Zeiss 100mm Makro-Planar. Two in extremely good condition are available used for good prices. I need other things worse (my 2007 laptop is in a very dire place) but these don't show up used (like new, at that) often, and new it will cost me about $600 more at least. I think I might pull the trigger at lunch.

You could just send me a few grand if you wanted though. ;)

Anyway, great stuff you've been posting lately. Quite busy myself, so my output is quite small.

Maybe the laptop just needs a new HD or RAM. Believe it or not, while I was in Japan/China I was dumping my photos on to a 2001 Fujitsu laptop. It is slow but for storing photos it is fine because I swapped the old HD for a new bigger one.
Are the leaves changing colour in Tokyo yet or is it too warm for that yet? Probably different story in the higher elevation mountains.

Wasn't sure which way I wanted to go, B&W or Sepia. To me, a good B&W photo is a photo that you never even think of how it would look in color. I mess around with several pictures seeing how they look in B&W, but most look like a color photo turned B&W.

Well, I use it for a lot of things -- and don't use it for photos unless I'm on the road. I use it for work on work trips, but at home, I use it for streaming video. Japan has changed it's law this month regarding downloading, so I'm streaming all my TV until they're a bit more clear on what exactly is kosher and what is not... or if they're actually going to do anything. So, assuming there's no bandwidth issue (which there is sometimes) I find the performance of streaming even Hulu to be... not up to snuff. It can play 720p mkv files just fine though. :| In short, it looks way better on my desktops... one of which is a Hackintosh. So, I will get a new one... just not sure when. Probably not until the summer.
