I'd love to know if anyone else likes this as much as I do? For some reason this image really speaks to me and is one of my favorite images in recent times.

I really like the simplicity of the image and the balance. This is almost SOOC, no crop, no sharpening, nothing. I only removed 3 hot pixels. I have a few other compositions of this, but this was my favorite. If anyone is interested and wants to see the other ideas I had for this image, let me know.

Any ideas or criticism, please let me know. I'm trying to figure out what I like about this one so much and if it's just me or what.

Thanks!

I'd chop off a big part of the image on the left side, maybe making this a square format - like this, the rocks are too big and distracting to me.

i think it is brilliant to be honest it has alot of flavour and mystique, i do agree a little with Jetthro that there is alot of rocks it would be nice to see a cropped image but i do think its fine how it is.

I would crop this down a lot. The dead black area on the left takes away from what is otherwise a great photo!

Thanks everyone... I wasn’t sure if it would be too much black or if that would be okay. I sort of like the amount of black, because of the hole in the rock on the left, which I think balances the composition. I will try the square comp though, because I think you may be right.

In the meantime, here is the first shot along with the other shots I tried (please excuse the dust bunnies, etc.. these are SOOC)

Thanks, Jeff!

Here's a square crop of #1. I do like this better, I think.

I would likely turn the image into a vertical 1:2 with the moon as the centerpiece. I've been shooting 6x12 and vertical is really nice.

Ah, interesting thought. I may have to try that option as well.

I'm not a fan of the square crop. I rather #1 as is. Who likes squares anyway?

I wasn't totally sold on the first image. Part of me liked it, part of me struggled with all the black. The square crop sells the image. Nice edit.

I'll agree to the square crop if you do, OP.:)
But I REALLY like #3.
