Thanks Chris, and yes they're wild game bird but used to my presence.
The endemic Native Hens frequent farms here and a pair called it home in a small paddock against our house. Over a couple of years they became so used to our presence they wouldn't flinch when we went outside.
It got such I could walk slowly into the paddock and they'd look up but go on eating.
Then 4 little fluffy chickens arrived and they took on the parents acceptance of me such that I can sit on ground within about 25 feet, 8 metres or so and they just go about life. This is 3 of them.
They wander to other parts of farm but if they hear my voice they stop running away when approached. Quite fascinating.

So they are all female? They reproduce by parthenogenesis? I never see anything in your posts about males.

No they're both sexes, but they're just called Native Hen
Confusing.
Sexes are alike so I gather. I've watched both parents at close quarters, photographed them in several different ways but can't pick a difference.
They both disappeared completely for a few weeks then they reappear with 4 chickens.
