Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts More info | Apr 15, 2021 17:46 | #23179 robamy wrote in post #19223226 ![]() Nice beaver shot, Rob! Everyone of your shots are so sharp, with wonderful image quality, fotoi! So I looked up the reviews on the 5DS R and read what Ken Rockwell (who's opinions I value) had to say. He claims that it is the finest DSLR in the world, and from everything I've seen here on the forums, I tend to agree with his statement. Your photos have certainly proved him right. LD, or Mike

Yes, I agree, it’s a very good camera in terms of image quality, color and resolution. The only thing lacking is dynamic range, which falls a little behind compared to the Canon 5D Mark IV. But for daylight wildlife photography, it’s a great camera. However, the Canon R5 has it beat in terms of eye focus and dynamic range, so for many people, the R5 is probably a better option.

I agree with what you said about the R5, but Ken Rockwell was speaking in terms of DSLR's. He was not including mirrorless cameras. Since I personally love to shoot birds in flight, I find the eye focus feature of the R5 and the R6 to be pure magic. However, I marvel at how your shots are so sharp and lifelike with outstanding color. LD, or Mike

I’ve heard rumors of an R5 with high resolution coming soon. That might be enough to get me into the mirrorless camp. But I agree, the 5DS-R gives some great results in the meantime.
