Hard shot to get as had to juggle shutter speed, aperture and ISO with some fill flash as it was in dense dark bush at dusk. And to make it worse handheld. Also First time in quite a while Ive had to resort to F2.8 on my 400mm prime which means a very narrow DOF and not all subject matter(Like his dinner as well ) is sharp . But as I dont get to see many of these guys that often and even better get to get a shot of them so I will take it Image hosted by forum (1110505) © clipper_from_oz [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. I've never seen a rufous owl so no idea of size, but must be reasonable if it's a flying fox?

I've never seen a rufous owl so no idea of size, but must be reasonable if it's a flying fox? Yes it looked like a flying fox as it had a decent size to it ...Also there is a colony of flying foxes not far from where i spotted the owl so Im assuming the owl nailed one of the more careless ones of that colony . Im unsure as to what constitutes large or small for these guys however it looked big to me sitting on the branch especially when compared to flying fox carcass it had and whos size Im very familiar with Clipper
