The animal doesn't have to be angry but I think it should seem to be saying, "Are you looking at me?"

I use a different interpretation of the thread title. This interpretation reverses yours regarding who "you" and "me" are. The animal should be looking at the camera, which represents the photographer. Judging whether the animal is doing this is a whole lot easier than judging whether the animal is thinking about being looked at.

Interesting, I've never thought of it that way. Unfortunately the introductory post (from 16 years ago!) doesn't shed much light either.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Tasmanian Devil - gorgeous creatures (when they don't bite you :p)

Nice picture Richard, we haven’t got any similar type of creatures.
Do these little guys attack on sight or do you have to wind them up a bit and are there many of them?

Ray you'd need some serious wild country to house these.
They'd eat your foxes, badgers and anything else of similar size, including lambs.
So it wouldn't be popular at all.

No they don't attack on sight and are generally shy animals.
I don't think you could wind them up. They'd be off like a shot :-P
