A Great-tailed Grackle

Terrific shot, of the Great-tailed Grackle, fotoi! You really captured his subtle blue colors very nicely.

Very nice cardinal shot, hammer!

Here is a wider view of the Paper Wasps and a small section of their "stick nest".

Taken with the Canon RF 100mm F2.8L IS USM Macro lens (not yet in database).

I had the camera mounted on a monopod as the shooting space is quite tight. This is a composite of 3 frames with the Spot AF point manually placed on the head, mid and end parts of the main insect to extend the DOF, and I was lucky that the lower cluster were in the same plane of focus.:-)

Cheers

Dennis

Outstanding close-up of the hen mallard, fotoi! Even the water droplets are very sharp.

Wow Dennis...very impressive image!

Thanks Mike, these wasps are approx. 10mm long (0.4 ins) and not aggressive unless you disturb their nest.:-)

I often have one or two land on the Speedlite flash, 100mm lens or even on my arm to check me out.

Cheers

Dennis
