They are not in the same parts of the wetlands area near my house. The little guys are still there a month after I took those photos.

If you look at this photo of two of them you can see the leaf litter next to them. Those are likely ficus leaves which are only a few inches long. These crabs are tiny, only about two inches shell length. The blue ones nearby are comparatively huge, more the size of the ocean crabs we eat. These are all on land though, water nearby.

Unless the one on the right lost a claw, they look like what we call fiddler crabs.

We are so fortunate to have seen 6 adults and at least 2 hoglets in our garden after dark this year. We leave food and water (we are in a drought currently) out for them each night, our neighbours joined us in doing the same and we now have a thriving community in the hedgerows behind our gardens.
