We have many species of those microbats in Australia too, Charles. They eat insects and roost in caves. The big ones--fruit bats or flying foxes--live on fruit and nectar, and roost in the trees of shady forest (and sometimes shady gardens). Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.
