I prefer to be in the bush with the animals than a crowded city.

Man, what horribly depressing fact of life does he have on his mind? Haha.

I think he was wondering whether he was going to get some loving from his girlfriend actually... she's been playing hard to get as her contraceptive is wearing off and they are hoping to breed...

I had an unnerving sense, I was being "watched" during my photo shoot at a local livestock farm.
After processing the images I suppose I was right;)

Actually, the sheep were quite docile and it was a great experience photographing the lambing season (births) and the entire farming operations.

Wow Bob, difficult to determine if "human" emotions can fairly translate, but this (fellow?) sure looks sad.

Great image as well as being thought provoking.

^ For sure. Orangutans are some of the most human-like animals you'll ever meet.

Thanks for the comment. Actually, Satu, was just sitting there looking around and did not appear sad at all. He regularly comes up to the glass and interacts with people. I think he was enjoying all the attention. Yes, people often try to relate human emotions to any animal and they may very well be close to accurate but in this case it's just the way his eyes and face are composed. His keepers have said he is a very sweet and gentle boy. Glad you liked it.

Thanks for the update and sharing your observations. Certainly a compelling image. Wonder if he would recognize himself in a photograph?
( I would guess yes, but I'm no expert ) And what type of reaction you would get if you had the opportunity to show him?

Thanks again, for sharing your fine image.
Bob
