Oct 15, 2017 12:31 | #9471 Yesterday we went to San Luis National Wildlife Refuge. As we were driving my wife told me to stop and back up. She said "I think I saw an owl". I've never seen a Great Horned Owl in the wild in California. I've been meaning to ask you........... do you MFA in the field? And if you do.... is the LCD enough? Sort of a silly question.... Hey Kim, yes and yes. after all your only moving focus forward or back a very small amount, so shooting feather or fur you can really see just how much is being moved and its real life stuff your shooting so what have you got to loose. its easy to keep track of what your doing and having fun at the same time. you just need a subject that keeps coming back or never leaves. That I often have.... and I have a hoodman thingie. I guess I could try it. As you said.. it's easy to do. I didn't think I'd be able to see the results on the tiny screen.
