I took this last Friday at a local Zoo. Of course the Sun was hitting the fence perfectly so it almost glows. The shot is terrible in so many ways but I for some reason I still love it :-)

This bird is only 3-4 inches tall, but I backed down. One tough looking dude!

This thread is great. I found 9 kits a couple of years ago. The mother dropped the mouse at the den and woke the kits up. This one decided to take off with the mouse.

Unfortunately, there was a rock blocking my full view of this gorgeous animal .. taken at the LA Zoo with a XSi and Tamron zoom.
