It heard my shutter at 40 yards. The 7D MkII shutter in silent mode is pretty soft sounding. Not so snappy as high speed.

Very cool GAJoe.... I too love to use the silent mode of the 7DII. I’ve used it a ton when I wish to be inconspicuous even at long distances.

Some cameras do not have such a valuable option.

Yes, the snow and wildlife are synonymous with each other.
Superb photo.
(I remember my first foray into snow with my first digital and the white-balance was so messed up it was atrocious.

They are rather appealing photos. Beautiful animal.
Expect it would come with a not so beautiful noise in the dead of night when you're in a tent miles from nowhere and it lets rip.

Yes shooting in the all white is a challenge....

Luckily for me I had the advantage of the 10 frames per second... When I'm talking about such things I just process something..... As I have thousands of these images..


I do believe I may need another 10 fps camera so I can move into 2019 armed and ready.
