What Joe said is very accurate. Post a couple of your best because only your friends and family will want to go through your entire Fliker site.
I did scan quickly through your first 4-5 pages and, honestly, most are 'snapshots' rather than artistic photographs. For you and your family, that is fine. We all have a lot of snapshots in our photo albums. But, for serious photographers you need to pare it down to the 'serious' photographs.
A few of your shots showed a good sense of composition and attention to the details that makes a photograph stand out. I would suggest that you read a couple of books on what some of the 'master' photographers feel makes a photograph different from a snapshot. Then go out and think about what you want to convey in each shot, keeping in mind what elements of the shot are important.
Whether you have invested too much in equipment depends on whether you use it or not. I think you have real potential, and will produce some really outstanding photographs as soon as you learn more of the basics and apply them.
