I have tried on several occasions to remove the Default LR presets like different B/W, contrast, Vintage, etc presets in the Library section by going into their Folder and deleting them. However, all I have to do is restart LR and there they are....

I am tired of scrolling through them to get to MY presets that I like. I never use the LR presets.

How do I rid myself of them for good?

I don't think you can, but in Develop at least, just don't expand the list.

Yes, you can: http://www.pixiq.com …lightroom-develop-presets (external link)

But you'll need to do it again after an update…

Thanks, guys. I still think it's cool that I can get this info from two very different parts of the world, and I'm not even old (not that old, at least....).

On a side note: You can use the same method to get rid of redundant web gallery presets (i.e.: All of them), but I've not yet found a way to make mine the "Default"…
