Nice,

I've been to Niagara Falls many times and can imagine where that shot was taken from. You see so many pics at night from above and just about every other time of day. Nice to see something different.

After being there, to me, there is no other place to take photos of it. It's just amazing at that level.

I look at your image and my ears hear the roar the falls make.

The last time I was there was in 2008. It's pretty cluttered up top now compared to what it was like way back when.

It's funny. The railing that is up top on the Can side hasn't changed since at least 50 years. I went there with my daughter this June and found the exact spot my dad had is picture taken when he was 9! I had her stand in the same spot. Makes for a great memory!

The roar is like nothing else. It was my first time there and the pictures do it no justice!! It's much more amazing in person!

My dad stood right at that middle block 50 years ago.... neat that it's still there!

@Suomi

The railing and concrete hasn't changed but the sidewalk has. It used to be concrete from what I remember and there was angle parking along the way along up to the American Falls. There was never much of a problem getting a parking spot and who knows, I could have parked in the same spot you took that picture.

@ Strangely Brown

I've been to many cities and States in the US but the place you took that pic and the American side of the falls is one place in the US I haven't been.

They may have changed the name but I believe that tower to the left of the building with the red at the top is the Skylon. I can remember when that was the tallest building at the Falls and the only building you would see from your vantage point.

Both pics bring back fond memories and compliment other another in a good way.

Skylon is the one with the 360 degree restaurant up top. My daughter and I had lunch up there in June. Awesome views!! You can even see Toronto from up there!

I was only at Skylon restaurant once.

The street in Niagara Falls where they have the wax museum and Ripley's Believe It or Not etc. is an area I would like to visit the next time I'm there. It may have changed, but it was tacky and gaudy looking. It's just the kind of thing that would make for some great pics. Perhaps you know the place I'm talking about.

I believe you are talking about the Clifton Hill area. Loud obnoxious and plenty of photo ops! Unfortunately my trip there was very rushed so I will have to go back some day with camera in hand.

You got it so you know what I mean. It's like time warping back to the 40's or 50's with a modern look. The lights would be great for some night shots.

Taken from the 'Maid of the Mist' boat. Excuse the dirt particles but I had to cover the camera and lens with plastic :)

@ Majky - You must have had a great spot on the boat... I didn't get there early enough so ended up crammed on one side on the bottom level. Great experience though! Need to go back for sure! Good shot.
