I noticed that, at least on Amazon.com, some Canon lens prices seem to be on their way back down after the sharp increase earlier this year. Here are two examples in the 100mm Macro and the 70-200mm f/2.8 II IS. Hopefully this trend continues. Not all have come down, I'm waiting for the 10-22mm or the 400mm f/5.6.

Maybe, but some of them started coming down right at the beginning of November and I wouldn't think they'd start lowering the prices that early for Christmas. I saw a couple of lenses that were at their lowest prices in 3+ years on Amazon. I guess we'll find out in January.

Another vote for christmas/black friday/cyber monday. Just keeping my fingers crossed they stay this low, but not counting on it.

Canon usually offers instant rebates this time of year. I know that the 70-200 II has a $300 instant rebate.

Yep, Instant Rebates along with the usual holiday season shopping price drops.

If you want something I would buy it. I doubt they are going to go any lower and more than likely they will go back up in January.

January 7th is when all the current rebates are ending.
