I tend to upgrade whenever I feel like it lol....I am rather addicted to fast computing though so my computers have always been top of the line systems. I try to keep them that way and upgrade at least every other year.

So, I've just stuck with iPhoto and it seems to run great. The reason Aperture is so slow is because your gpu doesn't support its native functions. I have a 5870 with 2 gb of vRAM and Aperture renders my 5Dii files in real-time. Lightroom doesn't use the gpu for much of anything, which is why it typically runs faster on the older machines. "Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.
