just received my 400mm f2.8 from b&h. first impressionas are, HOLY %$#@ look at the size of this bad boy !!!!
any tips from the pros on looking after my new family member ?
mainly using it for motorsport work.

It is best used mounted on a monopod but not with any kind of head or QR system as that becomes the weak point of attachment (as well as being useless anyway). Carry it with camera attached, hood on, attached to monopod, over your shoulder with camera in front and hood behind. If you get the monopod extended to about knee level then it gives more balance.
