A month ago I ordered 2 32GB Sandisk Extreme Pro CF cards from B&H Photo. I was using one during a basketball game with my 1D Mk IV when I noticed that it seemed to take a while to clear the camera buffer after a long sequence of shots.
I ran the following tests on both cards when I got home:
1. Put each card in the camera and shot raw images continuously at high speed until I heard it slow down indicating the buffer was full.
2. Stop shooting at first indication of the full buffer and time how long it took for the red write-light to go out on the camera.
3. Card 1 took 5 seconds to clear the camera buffer (34 images)
4. Card 2 took 20 seconds to clear the buffer (same # of images give or take 1-2).
I returned the defective card to B&H and got a new one that just arrived tonight. I ran the same tests and the new card has the same performance as the one I returned! So did I get 2 lemons in a row or are the two "bad" cards normal and did I happen to get 1 "uber" card that performs way above spec (very doubtful)?
I trust B&H to provide real (i.e. non-counterfeit) cards, but what are the odds of getting another card that seems bad? Does Sandisk have a bad batch of 32 GB Extreme Pro CF cards out there? Has anyone else here in POTN-land had the same problem?
