Here are some pics of my 8.5 year old male boxer named Mason. He's old, but he still acts very much like a puppy! He's almost always playing or at least carrying a toy around with him. He's very photogenic too.... I think!

He's a happy one! Were it not for the gray hairs, I'd think he was still a puppy!

He's very photogenic, and great shots of him!

He looks great Mandy, how is he dealing with the loss of Riley?

Thanks guys!

Phil, we have kind of a unique living situation. I rent the bottom level of my parents house where Riley and I stayed. While Mason is technically my dog, he chose my father as his person so even though my door was always open for him to come downstairs he rarely did. He wanted to be where my dad was. They were close when they were younger, but over time they grew apart. Towards the end they kind of did their own things.

Mason still knew Riley was missing though. Every morning and every night he came downstairs and would sniff around, especially on Riley's bed. You could tell he was trying to make sense of where Riley was. I think initially he was kind of lost without him, but he's doing better now.

Since Riley was downstairs with me all the time and Mason was upstairs it was just to quiet for me so I started researching breeders a couple of weeks after Riley passed. I just had a huge void to fill. I quickly found a litter of pups and will be getting one of the males in 2 weeks. I'm anxious and nervous at the same time on how Mason's going to do when my new puppy comes home. We'll be taking it slowly to make sure he'll be ok with his new little brother.
