Got to the racetrack after shooting the sunrise over at badwater (see previous posts) and spent a good amount of time there, just wandering on the playa. I couldn't really get into the groove during the afternoon so I just walked around looking at each and every rock...for about 4 hours. i should've just taken a nap. Come sunset time the wind picked up, it got really cold and windy...and i was the only one left at the playa...your mind plays tricks on you when you've heard stories about the place ...especially when you hear voices..but not see where they are coming from. I kept looking over my shoulder every few minutes, scoping the area to see if anyone else is there...there were no other vehicles parked that I could see ..so this somewhat added to the lets get out of here.

Shot the sunset, from not as many angles as I would've liked to. I will go back there and just focus on this area next time, little better prepared also.

I like this shot, Sunny. I have been to DV, and loved it, but failed to get to The Racetrack. Nice work.

That is a great shot, but you really need to stop posting photos from this place. My "To-Shoot" list is already too long as it is. LOL

Great shot. You need to frame and hang this one.

Very nice.

Anyone have a theory on how the rocks move?

Outstanding! Great use of the TS lens. I love the composition and the warm hues of the foreground. It's great how you got the rock to be so big in the frame and yet there is so much of the setting too. Really well done.

Work of art. Wonderful!

- I discovered I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a great white shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot.

Awesome image. I'll be going to Death Valley in about a month, hopefully I'll have the chance to stop at the race track while I'm there.

Awesome, awesome shot. Breaking the rule of thirds made this a killer image. I sat and stared at this same rock for about 15 minutes and couldn't figure out a composition I like, and here you are with one of the best shots I've seen from the racetrack.

The processing of the playa is perfect as are the levels. If I could make one suggestion though, is there any way to get rid of some of the banding in the sky or was that caused by the compression for the web? That's the only thing keeping this from being a perfect image. I'd kill to have this in my portfolio, well done!
