Just waiting for the battery to charge now and then I can fill up my new 1Gb card learning my new camera :)

Coming from an EOS3000 I think there will be something of a learning curve (the manual looks mighty thick).

/does the happy dance

Cool, I did the same thing last month, upgraded from the Rebel. Bet the first thing you'll notice is the 20D is very fast. Like the mac keyboard in the background too.

Welcome to the forum :)

You've made a great start in the 20D but take your time in perusing the manual and don't try to take everything in at once. Anything you're unsure about, just as and you'll receive help here :)

It's my trusty 28-105USM f3.5-4.5, filthy and theres selotape covering the distance meter but it still works lovely

The whole crop factor thing isn't as much of a problem I thought it was gonna be, I seriously thought I would never be able to take anything close to a wide shot ever again with my lenses, but it's not so bad at 28mm.

I think I'll need to get a spare battery or two first of all, anyone got any recommendations of where to get either Canon or good 3rd party ones in the UK? I checked out Sterlingtek and they've got 2 for $20 + shipping totals about £18 in real money (:p) so maybe I'll just get those.

If the weathers not crappy tomorrow maybe I'll go to the park and get some duck pictures

Now to spend some time rearranging my Crumpler bag...

(there's just a tiffen UV filter slapped on the front, maybe my ixus p&s flash is responsible for the misty look)
