Hi all.

I came to getting this lens. Heard this thins is reliable, but still want to ask what do you think about getting it used? New one cost $1350 and geting it used can save me around $200.

I got all my equipment used, like 30D, 40D, 5d2, 3x Tokina 28-70(80), 24-105L, 80-200L and a bit more and really happy with it. But some focusing problems can be more noticeable at F/1.4, then at 2.8 even at 200mm.

Do you think it's quite safe getting this used or better get a new one?
ps. personally leaning to get this used and save myself buchs for a b+W filter and shipping, as i'm not in US.

Yeah my 35 didn't need adjusting although my sigma 85 did. Someone posted a Canon document on here before and it explained the MA process as-
1 - set up camera on a tripod
2 - using live view at 10x magnification focus on the target which must be at least 50x the focal length away
3 - switch out of live view and focus again without touching lens

If the focus ring moves it needs MA

Do you think it's worth saving extra bucks and go for a used or better get a new one, untouched?

^^Good crisp clean shots rhys, I've been enjoying your Perth series lately, used to live there myself a few years back but not sure when I'll get back.
