Apr 08, 2013 08:15 | #5508 It has taken me a while to fall in love with this lens, but I think I am finally there. I have struggled with the FL mostly. I've never had a single complaint about the quality. I'm finding myself using it more and more and really enjoying the results! vinmunoz Cream of the Crop More info | Apr 08, 2013 09:48 | #5509 i just had this lens in a few days and I'm also unsure of the focal length but I gradually like it. it's the fact that you have to be so close to the subject. the good thing is you are so connected with your subject. especially kids, if you're farther away they tend to look anywhere especially if there's other people. ambient light at f1.4

Is that extra DOF worth the plunge? Most of the photos that I like in this thread were shot wider than f/2.8 it seems. What do you guys think?

Hard to say as everyone is different, but I've been throwing around the idea of selling my 35L to go back to the 24-70. Haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. Steve -- Website

Apr 09, 2013 08:16 | #5515 I feel like a broken record because I've been saying this so much lately, but the 35 is my favorite lens BY FAR. So versatile. It's on my 5D 85% of the time. When I need some reach or want a nice, compressed portrait, the 135 is on there, and the 135 is money, too. An edit with new Rebelsauce presets for LR4 BTW, if you like the processing, check out Rebelsauce I'm on the web here
