I had the Sigma and returned it for inconsistency. It's sharp when it focuses. Yes could be more sharp wide open. But I can't deal with inconsistent lens.

This is the only thing that has kept me from switching. I always want the sharpest lens available, but I won't sacrifice reliability for it since I photograph events. In all reality a client isn't going to notice the sharpness or bokeh difference between the lenses so I'd rather go with the one that is going to focus correctly every time.

Very seriously considering moving my 28 and 50 on for a 35L. I need sharper 1.4-1.8 performance. Photos in this thread sure are a selling point!

Just curious, but you have so many fantastic photos with this lens, why even bother selling? I just bought the Sigma myself, but still, just curious if you felt something was missing with the Canon.
