I have a 24-105L lens that extends itself whenever the camera is pointed down. Is anyone else experiencing this ? Can Canon adjust this and tighten the zoom?

Thanks

Yes, it is very common with the 24-105. Pain in the ass considering this is an L quality lens. No excuse for it. Yes, Canon can adjust it, so can you by sliding down the rubber on the lens and tightening the little screw.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. You're right, it IS a pain in the ass, especially for an L lens! Other than that though it's a great lens.

Thanks

Hogloff, where is this little screw? It's not under the rubber zoom ring, right?

I read about a year ago that there was no fix for this and mine has slowly gotten worse. I don't even use it as a walk around anymore because of it. If there is a fix for this I will be thrilled. Off to google this screw...

I guess I should consider myself lucky, I've experienced no lens creep in the 3 years I've owned it.

I found a cheap solution on Ebay. It's called "Lensband" lensband.com So far so good.
