I also made exposures in bulb exposure with mirror up and still got the same horizontal line. I have since sent the camera in to have it replaced, but I'm wondering what causes this? Brand new Canon 7d, three weeks old! Canon said to send it in for repair, but I sent it back to the retailer for an exchange.

Just like any other product, a small percentage arrive defective from the factory. You just got unlucky. That's what warranty and return policies are for, though, so you'll be fine. Taylor

Dec 02, 2011 10:13 | #8 The thing that troubles me about this is I took a number exposures the first couple of days I got the camera and they were fine! Then this line started showing up, so I'm wondering did I do anything to cause this?
