I have a basic question about wireless triggers:

I have the following flashes: 580 EX II, 430 EX II. YN-565EX

I bought 4 YN-603 transceivers for the wireless setup. Planning to put one on the camera and 3 on the flashes. This is the item I bought http://www.ebay.com …1438.l2649#ht_9525wt_1346 (external link)and it comes with 2 × C3 Shutter release cables. I read somewhere that I will need some others cables for 580 EX. Can one of you suggest what exactly I need?

Also it says its compatible with: C3---Canon: 1D/1DS,EOS5D/5D2/50D/40D/30D/20D/10D. Will it work with my 7D?
Thanks

Why would you need a cable for the 580 flash? Just mount in the the shoe of the RF-603.

Yes, the 7d uses the C3 connector for shutter release.

Thanks for the reply! My initial plan thought was just to mount 580 on the shoe and it should work. Then I read this review on Amazon:

"
Right price, get the right cables

I used these on a Canon 7D, using Canon speedlights. Ya put batteries in and boom it works, UNLESS you have a Canon 580EX II Speedlight. The 580 will work if you purchase an optional cord. For me it is a screw pc terminal to screw pc terminal. Amazon does not sell it. Other than that, it works! TTL wireless is just not mature enough and has many problems, so go with these, ya can't beat the price.

You cannot believe everything you read on the Internet! :)

I do not see why it would be any different than other flashes. Maybe this person thinks that just because the 580ex II has a PC port that you have to use it. Try it and let us know how it works. My guess is JUST FINE.
