I love Canon Beach and this shot is one of the best I've seen. Well done!

Glad you guys like it. I am kicking myself for having to crop it a bit, but when it comes to lucky shots with the wave action, you work with what you get. :)

No tripod, as the exposure was high-speed. I didn't have ND filters back then. Worked out fine though!

I wear shorts and aqua shoes for beach shots. There are maybe 20-30 photographers behind and to the sides of me in this shot, and not a single one had prepared to walk in the water. I got the whole shot to myself! Eventually a guy from India just walked in with his nice shoes on, which was smart for such an amazing sunset.

Also, once again the flippy screen of the 60D is the most amazing landscape photographer feature I have ever used. All the guys with 5D2 cams couldn't get low enough for shots like this. I just squat, put the camera super low and level it with the screen's electronic level. Nails these types of shots every time. That's a huge advantage over any other DSLR cam above the 60D. If Canon wanted to sell more people on this they should have an ad with a guy sitting belly down in mud and and another guy squatting comfortably with his screen flipped out, all nice and clean.

Great shot! I agree with the flip out screen, I wish Nikon or Canon would be brave enough to put one on a semi pro camera.

T3I if that's considered semi pro

I would consider a 60D a bit more "pro" than a t3i, but still a very nice camera.
