Deep Sky Stacker Question/problem?

So Im running the DSS program through Fusion on my MAC. I went outside and shot 5, 20 sec exposures from my drive way in RAW. When I viewed the photos from the LCD screen on my t3i I noticed I got some cool looking light from the street light that was near by and some stars and a few airplane streaks across the frame. So since this was my first time using DSS I would try to use these. However my problem is that when I imported the photos to the program it seemed to cut-off the right 2/3 of the photo. And when I stacked it I got some really funky stuff going on with the street light.

So my big question is why did DSS cutoff the right 2/3's of my photos?

Do I have to get away from the street lights because its trying to only give me a star field?

I kinda wanted to see if I could get some of the land scape in there too. Should I use a different stacking program because DSS is strictly for the star fields?

It depends on the stacking parameters used. There are 3 to choose from. If you want to see everything across all light frames, choose mosaic mode.

It could be an incompatibility with DSS. It could not process RAW files from my 60D. I needed to upgrade to the latest beta of DSS:

Since then, it processes my RAW files correctly.

Im running the latest version of DSS. It will open a jpeg just fine but dosnt seem to want to open my raw files from my t3i. Where can on find the latest beta versions of DSS? that link you posted is from 2009.

welcome to the forum and stacking via DSS.
I also have a 2009 iMac 27" i7 running DSS under VMare Fusion.

Someday would like a Mac OsX version....now that OsX market share is above 10%...maybe sooner than later?
