These are a few shots I took up at Hawk Hill vista up in the Marin Headlands last Saturday. I was lucky enough to find a huge bush right in front the cable fence that acted as a wind break. If that bush hadn't been there I would not have gotten as sharp a shot as I would have liked. Anyways Commet+Critique are welcome and I hope you enjoy these shots! :)

A Cotton Candy Sky By far, my favorite shot of that afternoon, I just love the City By The Bay!

Wispy Sky This is China Beach, Lands End, and the greater Western San Francisco area just before sunset, I loved the colors and patterns in the sky!

Misty Sunset (Rodeo Beach) I was actually downhill from this vista when I realized that the sun was doing beautiful things to the mist on the coast, so I ran up the hill to this vista and snapped this photo, one of my favorites from that afternoon.

Sunset on the Pacific (Point Bonita Lighthouse) As I was walking down from Hawk Hill I noticed that there was still beautiful color in the western sky above Point Bonita, so I decided to setup my tripod again and take a couple more shots!

The last shot is the best in my opinion. A mysterious play of colours. Very nice.

First shot is my favorite. I know you were trying to get the sky, but I, personally, would crop some of the sky out to make the bridge the focal point. Still very nice nonetheless.

Glad you enjoyed yourself and the great vista.

I have a funny story concerning the last image. A month or two ago I was out there and guided a couple to this spot (the turn in the road leading to the lighthouse). After a few minutes I joined them and then started to set my camera up. The guy says "you can't shoot here this is our spot" on public property no less. The man pulls out a tiny P&S and then asks me to shoot him and his partner for their glory image as if no one has ever shot that scenic. I just had to laugh the image was so not important to me but meant the world to the man who had a prize to claim.

This is one of the most photographed corridors in the Marin county. Last time I was there I counted at least 25 to 30 photographers shooting from each of the many perches. One guy had 3 cameras on 3 tripods. Wow do folks get serious over one of the most photographed scenics around. I personally think it is great to just be there and let the "pros" shoot their heart out and take in the air and the sights. I once too made a few images from these vistas.

Thank you! I think that a panoramic shot would have been nice too but I had been waiting for the perfect sky conditions such as they were that day so I concentrated on getting the sky perfect :P
