Are there any more of these around new? I might like one but don't know where to look. The new version is very much out of my price range.

It's the oddest thing--but the new supertele releases have driven up the price of the old stuff.

Keeping my eyes open. Looks like almost a complete sell out. Would have liked to see a glut at the end with a sale. Not to be I guess.

Not happening considering the price increase of the II. I'm in the market for one myself and have been waiting for the right one here or on FM.

You mean Canon refurb??? That's like forever not happening. For the OP, try the FM message board. I sold mine recently over at the FM message board.

There's one up for sale for $5700 right now at FredMiranda.com, US0214 date code...just bought a 300mm/2.8 IS, if this was available, would've jumped on this myself.

I saw that earlier but I'm not parting with that kind of cash with only 3 feedback.

Obviously, he is a long time member there, just not doing much buy-n-sell. He stated the lens was bought about 5 years ago, long before the current feedback system there.

He's taking Paypal, use your credit card to pay for it.
