A few Michael Freeman books, a new strap, and a bigger bag to store all my gear at the house. Nothing major, no lenses or big things for our Christmas budget.

T3i, Sigma 10-20, Sigma 30 1.4, 18-55 kit, 55-250, YN-565, a few books, some software, and a desire to get good.....

Heh, nice...

I just would like to have a Nikon to play with as a carry around. Since I am giving away my 350D to my daughter for Christmas (so I don't have the urge to carry any of my good lenses for the 350D) I am thinking of getting a Nikon D90 (used) with a good zoom lens. But I'll end up buying that myself after the new year.

Fuji x10 :)

I told my wife that I'll sell my Canon G12 to subsidize a portion of the cost.

I guess I already ordered my Christmas present - a Sigma 30mm f/1.4. :)

Sadly though, it's backordered. Hopefully it won't be long.

We do a Secret Santa thing every year with family and friends aside from the normal gift giving. This year's minimum gift should be at least $100. I wrote down a 430EX II together with my name.

Last week I got my photo related xmas gift to myself: the S100 compact. :)

I never ask for camera items for 2 reasons:

1. I buy online usually and/or used, which is way cheaper than buying new locally. Anything small/cheap I buy as I need so I wouldn't bother to wait to have as a xmas or bday gift.

2. If I wanted something I would have to write down the exact make and model, and probably color, it just seems like something that the person might get wrong, and doesn't seem like a personal gift...

In the past my wife has helped pay money towards my first DSLR which was nice, and I opened it up at Christmas. But it was more special back then, now gear is just gear to me.

I always tell everyone the best gift they can give me is absolutely nothing (and that's usually what I get).....I've always found the idea of people giving me gifts kind of odd and somewhat awkward......Not only that, I would never want anyone to feel obligated to buy me anything. On the flip side, I give no gifts either.
