Sennheiser PXC-450. Way better SQ than the Bose.

I honestly don't want anything. I bought myself nearly 8k in gear in 5 months and just want continued support from my family while I'm finishing my BS in Mechanical Engineering.

Thanks for the tip on the headphones

No problem, the noise cancelling is better on the Bose; however, if you don't fresh have batteries installed in the headphones you can't use them and as I said, the sound quality from the Sennheiser's is far better. Bose isn't know for SQ.

I have Sennheiser HD428's. No active noise cancelling, but they surround your ear and block a lot of sound naturally. And they are 1/5th the cost of the PXC-450! Wow!

Pretty insane price....http://www.amazon.com …TF8&qid=1323180782&sr=8-1 (external link)

Considering I paid nearly full retail when they initially came out. I've used them nearly everyday for 5 years and they look and perform like new.

That's the price I was looking at already! The HD428's are $45 on Amazon. I don't doubt they are not in the same league though. But that's a completely different budget there and if your budget is under $100, the HD428's block a lot of noise without active cancelling.

Hubby took me to Sam's tonight to get my Manfrotto tripod and backpack combo. Good news, it had been reduced $20. I am now the proud owner of a Manfrotto tripod, love the ball head. I know it is probably a really low end Manfrotto, but I think I will be happy with it. Was using a Wally World one before, cheap and unsteady, would never stay where I put it. The backpack, not so impressed, think I will stay with my Canon backpack, maybe use the Manfrotto one for quick trips, its made to hold the collapsable tripod.

5 section tripods aren't the most stable platform, but with the lenses you have the tripod should be fine, just don't put over three pounds on it. If you don't use the whole height of the tripod, don't extend the smallest legs.

Kenko extension tubes.
A hood for my 50mm.
Cinema EOS C300. (a guy can dream, right?)
And an extra week of vacation time to process my backlog of shoots and do some more Photoshop training.

Tempted to make up a list of fake camera things to annoy my family while they're shopping. A 500-gram tube of aperture lubricant, and a set of 8mm and 11mm Fish Islands.

I've got a few speedlite accessories (and a speedlite) on the list, as well as a book or two.

Already got a fairly big present thanks to some help on a business venture from my old man. :)

Well, my in-laws have said we are having a big Christmas this year and asked me about replacing my SIL's broken 30d with a t3i kit, so I think they are pretty serious. I've asked for either cash or a B&H gift card. This means that I will likely receive a $50 card for B&H, one of those Christmas car care packages and a $300-400 GC to Target. Oddly enough, Target happens to be my wife's favorite store.
