The game will last 7 Days and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.

Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #395."

Game ends Sunday 11th December at 9pm GMT.

Straightened a lit bit, cropped some, duplicated background, set blend mode to multiply.
Added an extreme black/white adjustment layer with a mask to hide the whites of the water, blend mode set to difference.
Added levels layer with the same mask, blend mode set to screen at 61%, added more black to the mask to hide some of this effect.
Added a selective color layer for the blues and reduced all of the cyan, reduced 75% of the magenta, and added 100% black.
Flattened, added frame, flattened, saved and here we are.

Here is my attempt!
-Straightened the image. Added curves and hue adjustment layers.
-Slightly adjusted the curves to bring out some contrast and moved the hue slider to about -7 to fix the white balance. Now Im sure thats not the right way to do white balance but I honestly am not sure how to in Photoshop haha.
-Then threw it into Color Efex Pro and added a tonal contrast filter and a details extractor filter.
Thats about it.

LR- Rotated image and used Lens correction to set waterfall horizontal.
Cropped using golden ratio (grid) as a guide to set waterfall. and set white water left of center.
Used brush tool to lower exposure along stream above waterfall, then again a bit darker above bridge.
Contrast in curves, reduced clarity to soften water, reduced yellow saturation.

PS- Auto Color ('cause it does much better than me) high-pass sharpened.

I cropped it a little bit as well to make a portrait shot and got rid of some dead space. I kind of liked the angle of the bridge so I did no rotating or anything like that.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

In PhotoShop CS5:

Dropped highlights by 50%
Upped vibrance by 50%
Pulled some of the hydrangeas in from the right side and cloned a few more with individual tweaks to make it a bit less obvious.
Pulled some of the right side ground cover flowers closer to the water and cloned a few more with individual tweaks to make it less obvious, and upped red channel saturation of just the ground cover flowers.
USM in two passes (5,50 then 50,0.33)
Cropped.

Some good entries this week.

Douglas: Good contrast and depth of colour - heavy border but it works well, as does the crop.
Mrbubbles: I like the colour balance and clarity through to the centre back of the image here.
cameraman and spoolin_photography: different crops, one B&W and one colour both interesting take on the height of the subject.
PerfectTan: Sorry, not my cup of tea at all.
Lore: Subtle changes but good as usual
Dredaze: Another portrait crop and I prefer this one out of the three because it looks in better proportion.
sparkin: Best change of colour and would have won except its not straight.

Which leaves me with t3Heavyshop: Water always finds its own level and this picture is the only one I can see that is really level so you are my winner this week. Over to you and thanks to everyone who took part.
