Took a short trip to the local wildlife refuge Saturday morning to mainly see how the conditions were (water levels, bird/shorebird activity etc). Since I am mainly a landscape photographer, I had to stop and photograph the sunrise before I drove the loop in search of birds.

Nice shots, Mike...especially the third. Like how the birds form a diagonal line to the left, leading to the bend in the grasses, then back into the frame.

I like #2, mostly because it includes distant flights of ducks/geese and seems more complete because of it, well done.

oldno7 - I do have a composition just like #1 that includes a flock of birds. May have to process it too.

Thanks for looking!

Mike, I am planning a trip out there next weekend and have never been. How long of a lens do you think is needed to get really good bird shots? Thanks.
