70-200 f/2.8L IS II

Doubt you would be happy with a 50 1.8 when you only have L's already.

You know that was my first choice so far....only thing that's been holding me back is possibly upgrading my 50D to a 7D so I'd prob throw my $$ there first....

100L macro and portrait.

Also, can be use as a baton to beat a potential robber. The 24-70 and 100-400 are more like telescoping clubs, not as much fun to use.

Seeing as you already have some pretty good glass covering the usual recommended focal lengths for portraits I'm assuming you want something faster and/or narrower DoF, correct? Me, I would probably go with the 35 (or 50) 1.4 that was suggested but it really depends on what your 24-70 2.8 is not doing for you now. The other lens I might suggest since you're sticking to crop would be the 17-55 2.8 but other than being wider than what you already have I don't know that it's what you're looking for.

Well yes, definitely a little faster and narrower. To throw another variable into the mix perhaps something to also use for landscapes as well....

OP is using crop so if he went that route, I would say 60/2.8.
