I'll start this and see what happens...

What kind of flashlights do you all use? Granted, photography is mostly a "daylight" endeavor, but there must be times when we're out and about in the dark and need a good light source as a part of our gear.

I found this one and I like it.

Nebo Redline.

I loved the Fenix P1D, but it was discontinued. I've been using a Streamlight ProTac 1L for a year or so, works well is is relatively cheap. I've been thinking about getting one of the 4sevens lights. I do facility inspections and carry a flashlight all of the time. I want the smallest and brightest, and I'm fine using the CR123 lithium batteries as they are cheap in bulk.

There was another flashlight thread a few weeks ago (actually it was light painting - its over here

I'm a bit of a flashaholic

My edc lights are a Titanium Muyshondt neutral Aeon (has a nice warm colour, around 4000k)

IMAGE: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m150/Echo63/BZC18623.jpg

A custom Surefire 9P (bored for 18500 lion and reanodised by Oveready, floody 1000 lumen neutral (4500k) dropin by Moddoo)
IMAGE: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m150/Echo63/180810orforcpf8.jpg

And a Sunwayman V10R TI - a new titanium variable output light, so new I haven't photographed it yet

I also have a bunch of Surefires, (have added an M4 and M6 since this pic was taken)
IMAGE: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m150/Echo63/m3.jpg
IMAGE: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m150/Echo63/BZC24349.jpg

And when I really need to reach out I have a Maxabeam - a properly measured 7.2 million candlepower spotlight (most of the lights with 10,20,30 million CP ratings on the box struggle to make 1million CP)
The manufacturer say it will reach out to 2 miles, I have tested it out to a kilometre (see pic below)

Whoa Echo ... you're really a flashaholic!

I have a handful of flashlight as well. One that I've grown in love with is the HDS Rotary flashlight (http://www.hdslights.com …Rotary&mName=R1S&mOut=200 (external link)). You can adjust the brightness from super dimer 0.07 lumens to 200 lumens.

You cant talk ! - youve got a HDS
(actually the hds is one light i havent owned yet - i did edc a Novatac edc120p for a few years, it was replaced 2 days ago by the sunwayman)

When my wife ordered the Sunwayman light she rang an aussie dealer - the guy asked who it was intended for, and did i need any batteries, or a charger, she replied it was for me, and i was a bit of a flashaholic - he asked what the last light i bought was, to which she replied "a Maxabeam"
He lost it laughing and said "ok, he should be fine for batteries and will know what he is doing then"

They did include a battery in the packaging too though, which was nice of them.

I've had really good luck with these flashlights
http://www.coastportland.com/led-flashlights/ (external link)

I work 3rd shift as an aircraft mechanic so, having a good flashlight is a must. I've been using these for several years now and have never had a problem. It get's used A LOT every night and it takes a beating! Lol. Dropped, kicked, knocked around, you name it.
I use one similar to this - http://www.coastportland.com/tx40-led-flashlight.htm (external link)
I really like being able to focus the beam. That's a huge plus!
You can get them at Home Depot for about $40.

Elzetta is kicking SureFire's butt these days in the 2 cell utility light category:

For EDC though, nothing really beats the SureFire E1 Backup. When I need to dress in a fashion that doesn't have a flashlight sticking out of my pocket, I like the Quark. I vastly prefer US built lights though.

I have couple of the three watt Black Ops flashlights I just love. They're a little bit bigger than the average light but they are brighter than anything I've seen up to this point...

OK, I got one of these: Coast LED Lenser - about $60
http://www.amazon.com …TF8&qid=1323384427&sr=8-4 (external link)

And one of these: Nebo Redline - about $25
http://www.amazon.com …TF8&qid=1323384414&sr=8-1 (external link)

I like the Coast, but I have to say that Nebo is a pretty darn good light for the money. If you need a good bright light and don't want to go crazy with the cost, try one of these Nebos...
